Qualifications

Therapy and Counselling - Level 2, 3 and 4 Therapy and Counselling Skills. Safeguarding supervision training.

I have taken and continue to take courses and read books about areas that interest me such as mindfulness, autism, ADHD, polyamory, kink & BDSM, sexuality, gender, narcissism, shame. I am currently studying DBT.

Music/education - QTS. BA (Hons) First Class, Soundtrack Production. FdA Popular music (Distinction)

I draw upon a rich personal lived experience as I have worked across many industries and have always pushed myself to engage with new and different experiences.

The beginning of my personal growth started when I was learning about mindfulness and yoga in my early thirties, and how it can help self-regulation. I am a firm believer that we can all change and grow with practise and intent.

I was interested in how the mind works from a fairly young age and studied child psychology at college when I was a teenager. When I became a teacher this knowledge was really useful and I was fascinated about how we learn, including the ideas of Maslow, Bloom and Rosenshine. After 15 years of teaching I returned to my studies in this area to become a therapist.

Other experience/info

I have been self-employed in event management, sound engineering and staging and I have played and composed for many years in various music ensembles. I also have 18 years teaching experience in secondary schools with music, technology and other subjects. I am a trained supervisor for safeguarding staff.

One of my passions is volunteering at Teddy Rocks Festival which has raised over £800000 for children’s cancer charities, where I have taken on many roles since 2012. I have previously volunteered at BISYOC intercultural exchange and in safeguarding and welfare at music events. I also help run and monitor safeguarding at kink events.
